Abstract
Raising Controversy or Valid Food for Thought?A 62 yr.old male presented for molar extraction after a presumed failed endodontic treatment originally completed some 3 and ½ years prior.Preceding the extraction by several months, a cystic distension of the lateral related gum appeared which could be expressed of clear fluid by manipulation.Localized pain was intermittent but rare.There was no localized erythema.Radiography demonstrated contiguous cystic erosion of the un-derlying bone.The original endodontic treatment had included a root canal procedure and obturation associated with gutta percha, Tempit ® , and Cavit ® .A crown was later applied.The latter was performed after symptomatic periodontitis occurring with a previously amalgamfilled tooth.Leading up to the molar extraction, the patient suffered with a progressive collection of systemic pathologies including tremor, small fibre peripheral neuropathy, cardiac arrhythmia, hypercoagulable state, allergic manifestations including dermographism, and other features of dysautonomia.As the complex clinical picture included various potential comorbidities, little regard was ascribed to the dental procedures.Within six months of the
