Abstract
En résistance à un mode de développement urbain qui exclut la population plus défavorisée, le réseau communautaire du quartier Pointe-Saint-Charles à Montréal milite pour faire reconnaitre le droit à la ville ainsi que la nécessité et la légitimité que les citoyen-ne-s interviennent sur les enjeux reliés à l’aménagement du territoire. Par la mobilisation citoyenne, la table de concertation communautaire Action-Gardien vise à renforcer le pouvoir d’agir collectif et le contrôle par la population de ses conditions de vie et de santé. Diverses stratégies sont déployées pour être partie-prenante de l’avenir du quartier, combinant élaboration de propositions citoyennes, pressions populaires, négociations avec les pouvoirs publics et les promoteurs. Ces opérations populaires d’aménagement sont une illustration d’innovations sociales qui permettent à une communauté d’agir, à travers les luttes urbaines, sur les déterminants de santé.
