Abstract
En 1902, Georgina Lefaivre commence à écrire dans divers périodiques jusqu’à faire du journalisme sa profession en 1905, année de ses débuts au journal Le Soleil, quotidien de la ville de Québec d’où elle est originaire. Elle poursuit ses contributions jusqu’en 1922 sous la forme de billets. En 1919, Ginevra publie un recueil intitulé En relisant les vieilles pages dans lequel sont rassemblés de courts textes déjà publiés entre 1906 et 1918. En 1922, sous son autre pseudonyme, elle en publie un deuxième intitulé Billets de Geneviève. Éduquer au bonheur par une préparation au rôle dévolu traditionnellement aux filles forme la trame de ses propos. Aspirer à un bonheur discret et modeste serait le secret pour parer à l’inévitable de la vie quotidienne de l’épouse et surtout de la mère qu’elles deviendront pour la plupart. Plusieurs thèmes sont récurrents dans les deux recueils, la modernité et l’influence de nos voisins étasuniens faisant leur apparition dans le deuxième.
