En 2010 la New Left Review (NLR 65) a traduit un dialogue entre Horkheimer et Adorno propos d'un nouveau manifeste 1 . Ce dialogue, qui a eu lieu en 1956, n'est comprhensible que dans le contexte de l'interprtation par Marx et par Lukacs de la relation entre thorie et pratique. Dans cette intervention, j'essaierai d'expliquer comment ce contexte empche l'criture du manifeste et rend la discussion absurde. Mais d'abord, je dirai comment Horkheimer et Adorno abordent le problme.
