Abstract
Fugitive Pieces, the novel written by the Canadian Anne Michaels, presents itself as an original and perturbing reorchestration of the main themes of the Holocaust literature. The accent is not put on the catastrophe itself, but mainly on the trauma it supposes and its irrational transmission from one generation to another.A deep study of the text itself of the novel underlines a dialectic of the disappearance and the track, of the time and the space, of history and geography. By fixing her thoughts in the landscape and by choosing a distant point of view, does Anne Michaels not take risks, both ethic and aesthetic ? This article tends to answer this question.
