Abstract
L’auteure tente de prouver le caractere universel de l’envie et son importance dans le developpement. Elle etaye son hypothese en etudiant le developpement de la conscience de soi et des autres. A partir des idees actuelles de biologistes evolutionnistes et de chercheurs specialises dans la petite enfance, elle propose un modele de l’utilisation a la fois saine et destructrice de l’envie au fil du developpement. Les exemples cliniques montrent comment un certain manque de reflet et de contenant pendant la petite enfance peut entraver le desir et la conscience de soi, entrainant des sentiments pathologiques d’envie et l’impossibilite d’une utilisation saine de l’entourage.
