Se analiza el posicionamiento competitivo de los productos agricolas en Norteamerica, que el gobierno federal mexicano considera como estrategicos para el pais, incluidos en la Planeacion Agricola Nacional 2016-2030. Se evaluaron los 37 productos de las cestas de Mexico, EUA y Canada con el indice de las Ventajas Comparativas Reveladas (VCR) durante el periodo 1990-2017. Los resultados indican que Mexico carece de ventajas comparativas en los productosbasicos para la alimentacion de su poblacion, sin embargo hay productos que tienen ventajas comparativas en los mercados de EUA y Canada, incluso unos mejoraron su posicion por encima del promedio y pueden servir como modelo.
