Dans une perspective critique au croisement de la communication, desCultural Studieset des études télévisuelles féministes, les auteures mettent en lumière la manière dont les configurations du média télévisuel à l’ère numérique contribuent à reconfigurer la figure de l’animatrice et à (re)produire le genre. Les animatrices vedettes de la télévision proposent des visions intéressantes du pouvoir au féminin et, par là même, promeuvent certaines visions spécifiques des identités et des rapports sociaux de genre. À partir d’une analyse d’émissions originales non fictionnelles de la plateforme Véro.tv, les auteures proposent une réflexion sur la présence et l’action des femmes dans les cultures médiatiques au Québec, en montrant comment les stratégies promotionnelles et représentationnelles associées à ces nouveaux contenus produits pour le Web contribuent à la médiation d’une rhétorique postféministe.
