Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This paper presents a comparison between the slope stability method introduced by Alexandre (2020) and the General Limit Equilibrium (GLE) formulation developed by Fredlund and Khran (1977). The comparison was made for ten cases selected from the Slide Verication Manual from Rocscience (2020) and encompasses slopes of dierent geometries as well as dierent soil and water conditions. The results show good agreement both in qualitative and quantitative terms in all the ten cases studied herein. In addition, in this paper, a dierent numerical procedure than the ones described in Alexandre (2020) is also introduced. The new procedure worked well in all cases for both the new method and the GLE formulation and it is suitable for use with spreadsheets.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
