Abstract
Dans le cadre du XXVI e Colloque de l’association des étudiants diplômés du département d’histoire de l’Université de Montréal ( AÉDDHUM ), nous proposons de traiter dans cet article de l’émergence des tensions entre juifs et chrétiens au XIII e siècle au sud de la France, à travers l’analyse de responsa (hébr. shéelot ou-téshouvot ). Ces lettres témoignent d’une crainte de la part des autorités juives dans les contacts de plus en plus étroits entre juifs et chrétiens. De cette inquiétude émane l’instauration draconienne de mesures restrictives alimentaires et, par le fait même, sociales. Ces interdits marginaliseront ainsi de plus en plus les juifs de la population chrétienne, d’autant plus que l’Église établira, dès le début du XIII e siècle, tout un système de contre-interdits alimentaires.
