Abstract
Lors de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, les gouvernements polonais et tchécoslovaque en exil demandent l’appui des Alliés pour expulser les minorités allemandes de leurs pays. Une fois de retour dans leurs pays, les gouvernements ne perdent pas de temps et mettent leur plan à exécution. Or, rapidement, les pays expulseurs constatent non seulement l’ampleur de la tâche, mais aussi l’incohérence des définitions de l’identité allemande selon les réalités régionales et locales. Cet article vise d’une part à dégager les tentatives des autorités d’établir, de propager et d’uniformiser les « normes » de germanité (ce qui les transforment plutôt en « définitions » puisqu’elles changent constamment), puis d’autre part, à dresser le bilan de l’instrumentalisation de ces définitions par les gouvernements polonais et tchécoslovaque afin de légitimer leur pouvoir et de conserver leur territoire.
