L’article analitza la historia professional dels setanta-vuit metges catalans de naixement o formats a Catalunya, que es van instal·lar al llarg del segle XX als Estats Units d’America o al Canada per exercir la seva professio. Dotze es van exiliar com a consequencia de la guerra civil i seixanta-sis ho feren per raons professionals, majoritariament a partir dels anys seixanta.
