Mikroplastik merupakan bagian dari sampah plastik yang memiliki ukuran partikel kurang dari 5 mm. Mikroplastik yang terdapat di dalam perairan kemungkinan dapat ditelan organisme laut, seperti ikan tembang (Sardinella fimbriata). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan jumlah setiap jenis mikroplastik yang ditemukan pada saluran pencernaan ikan tembang di Perairan Teluk Kendari. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni – September 2020. Lokasi pengambilan sampel ikan tembang berasal dari stasiun Perairan Kendari Beach, Perairan Masjid Al-Alam dan Perairan Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Kendari menggunakan gillnet, selanjutnya sampel ikan tembang dimasukkan dalam cool box untuk mempertahankan kesegarannya. Analisis sampel dilakukan di Laboratorium Unit Produktivitas dan Lingkungan Perairan, Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan, Universitas Halu Oleo. Pengamatan dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap yaitu tahap preparasi sampel dan identifikasi menggunakan mikroskop. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa jenis mikroplastik yang ditemukan ada empat jenis yaitu jenis fiber, fragmen, film dan pellet. Mikroplastik paling tinggi ditemukan dalam saluran pencernaan ikan tembang pada penelitian ini adalah jenis film sebesar 208,6 partikel/individu (50,24%) dan terendah adalah jenis pellet yaitu 1 partikel/indindivu (0,24%). Berdasarkan lokasi penelitian, jumlah mikroplastik tertinggi ditemukan pada stasiun PPS Kendari yaitu 151,9 partikel/individu dan terendah didapatkan pada stasiun Masjid Al-Alam yaitu 123,7 partikel/individu.Kata Kunci: Mikroplastik, Ikan Tembang (Sardinella fimbriata), Perairan Teluk Kendari.
