Abstract
Este artículo explora los modos en que las personas en situación de desplazamiento forzado en la ciudad de Medellín, y los colombianos a quienes les fue negada su solicitud de refugio en Ecuador, se relacionan con el Estado y el régimen internacional de migración forzada. Igualmente muestra como recrean identificaciones sociales específicas de sus circunstancias de migración forzada. El trabajo indaga cómo las categorías de refugiado o desplazado tienden a reducir la complejidad y la diversidad de experiencias y los modos de identificarse de los migrantes forzados mediante la construcción de fronteras artificiales de identidad. In addition, it shows the specifi c social identifi cations that they made from their circumstances of forced migration. The work explores how the categories of refugee and displaced tend to reduce the complexity and diversity of experiences, and the ways in which forced migrants identified through the construction of artificial boundaries of identity.
