Abstract
The review highly appreciates the book by E.V. Shakhmatova “Mythologeme “East” in the philosophical and esoteric context of the culture of the Silver Age”. Its significance, according to the reviewer, lies in the fact that it convincingly proves that the East for Russia was not exclusively an external opposition, but organically entered its geopolitical space, was significant for the cultural and historical development of the country.
