O trabalho pretende analisar discursos sobre a operação da Polícia Federal batizada de “Carne Fraca” produzidos pela mídia brasileira e materializados em textos de gênero jornalístico em jornais e revistas de circulação nacional. Para melhor compreendê-los, inclui a análise de publicidades produzidas pelo próprio agronegócio brasileiro. Com base na Análise do Discurso de linha francesa derivada de Michel Pêcheux e em contribuições de Michel Foucault, buscaremos identificar o que se diz sobre a produção do setor e como foram formulados os enunciados a seu respeito durante o período de efervescência do acontecimento. Para tanto, analisaremos uma reportagem produzida pelo EL PAÍS e intitulada de “Operação Carne Fraca: o esquema podre que ronda os frigoríficos no Brasil”, uma edição da Revista VEJA intitulada de “A implosão da carne: como a imprudência da Polícia Federal atingiu em cheio um dos maiores negócios do Brasil”, e dois slogans costumeiros da indústria: “Friboi: carne confiável tem nome” e “Presunto é Sadia”.
