Abstract
Malgré une volonté d’objectivité, l’évaluation des élèves en difficulté scolaire est, en partie, influencée par les représentations sociales de la difficulté scolaire que les évaluateurs possèdent. Cette étude vise à analyser ces représentations pour divers acteurs du système éducatif à savoir des élèves, des parents d’élèves, des enseignants et des psychologues scolaires. Les résultats indiquent que la difficulté scolaire se décline sous divers aspects : problèmes liés à la famille, aux pairs, à l’école, caractéristiques personnelles (personnalité, troubles cognitifs, comportements), culture et aide à apporter. Par ailleurs, ces différentes catégories ne se retrouvent pas de manière équivalente en fonction des groupes même si les explications internes sont prédominantes dans les descriptions. Les implications de ces représentations contrastées sont discutées.
