Abstract
“El Monte de las ánimas” representa la poética de Bécquer —la trascendencia del yo en el otro por medio del amor—. Lo que se opone a dicha poética es el símbolo de muerte que gobierna esta leyenda. Existen contenidos inconscientes simbolizados por los personajes principales y por los personajes secundarios que involucran a la cultura y la naturaleza, a la tierra y al cosmos. Las deformaciones de estos contenidos inconscientes en los personajes manifiestan la tensión entre saberes opuestos: la cultura y la naturaleza. Tales deformaciones afirman una poética de muerte que destruye a la poética del amor. Los saberes y los personajes deformados poseen significados diferentes a los literales. Por tal razón detrás de las ánimas y de la historia yacen significados simbólicos que se alejan de lo conocido.
