Analytical study of literature that focuses on information as a social phenomenon, in comparison with others about mediation of information, socio-interactionist theories, social protagonism, education, culture and politics. Put in evidence the relevance of mediation of information when it reaches its dialogical, aesthetic, formative, ethical and political dimensions, having the ethical dimension as the ruler of the interference action, ensuring the exercise of problematization that contributes of the appropriation of information, and práxis for the awareness of those involved in the mediating action, favoring the development and strengthening of social protagonism as mediation intentionality, demanding the performance of the organic intelectual, under the conception of Gramsci.
