War and slave resistances in the New Granada Revolution: determining elements for the republican project of abolition of slavery

Abstract
Resumen En el presente artículo se pretende comprender las conexiones que se forjaron entre los procesos de la revolución y de la abolición neogranadina, mediante el análisis de la cuestión esclava en medio de la guerra y de las estrategias con las que los esclavos resistieron esta condición y buscaron su libertad. A partir del estudio de diversas fuentes de archivo hemos identificado que (A) la guerra independentista y (B) las resistencias esclavas fueron elementos determinantes del proceso de abolición en la Nueva Granada; dando lugar a una serie de iniciativas antiesclavistas que precedieron el desarrollo del proyecto de abolición iniciado en 1821, con la expedición de la ley de libertad de partos de la república de la Gran Colombia, y aceleraron el desmonte de la esclavitud.
