Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Using a trace analysis methodology and a comparative approach, the objective is to analyze three political complaint documentaries made in North America between 2003 and 2011, a period characterized by regional integration, due to policies of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the implementation of national and border security policies. This article argues that documentaries, whose main purpose is to inform in order to bring about a change, reflect a different perception of the region, to the extent that there is a criticism of the policies implemented and their main problems. Dynamics and events that cross the territory, the way countries are perceived and the reactions of social resistance are reviewed. It is concluded that there is regional affinity in the way of conceiving the implementation of economic policies and their effects, despite the asymmetries between Canada and United States and Mexico. The text allows for reflecting on North America from political minorities and opposing angles to neoliberalism.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
