Abstract
A finalidade deste artigo é apresentar um comentário sobre o diversificado papel dos espectros nas tragédias de Sêneca. Em Thyestes e Agamemnon, os fantasmasde Tântalo e de Tiestes aparecem como personagens que assumem o discurso nos prólogos e fazem previsões sobre o futuro. Em Troades, os fantasmas de Aquiles e de Heitor são mencionados como aparições. Em Oedipus e Hercules furens, pessoas vivas se dirigem ao mundo das sombras onde têm contato com espíritos. Essa diversificação é um dos traços da originalidade que marcou os textos de Sêneca.Palavras-chave: Sêneca. Tragédias. Espectros.
