Abstract

Information and communication technologies are at the heart of profound changes occurring in industries as diverse as transport, finance, medicine and scientific research. While the legal industry is only starting to embrace the use of software systems, there are signs that existing offerings are beginning to have an impact in the market place. This article presents the results of a systematic literature review and product search concerning legal information technology. Following a strict methodology, we distilled the results of our searches into a taxonomy of legal informatics applications that should prove valuable for students, researchers, and practitioners.
