Une recherche financée par le Programme ECOS- Nord sur le thème de la violence a été réalisée conjointement par l’Equipe de Recherches Cliniques de l’Université Toulouse II (France) et par l’équipe Sintoma y Lazo Social de l’Université Antioquia de Medellin (Colombie). Dans une orientation clinique et en référence à la psychanalyse, cette étude porte sur les expériences de violence, les rapports et la prise de position vis à vis de celle-ci d’une population d’élèves de cycle III (8-12 ans) d’écoles primaires situées dans des quartiers défavorisés. Sont présentés ici les résultats de la recherche française effectuée en zone d’éducation prioritaire (ZEP). Ceux-ci permettent de mettre en exergue l’état des différents liens sociaux (éducatif, politique, religieux, etc.), d’en déduire les enjeux pour notre société contemporaine, de tirer leçon d’une incontournable modification des pratiques éducatives au sein de l’école. Sur ce dernier point, il convient de noter que seul un ensemble cohérent d’actions de sensibilisation et de prévention vis-à-vis des diverses formes de violence, se déclinant sur l’ensemble de la scolarité, pourrait permettre à chaque jeune de s’engager sur les voies de l’éthique et de la responsabilité citoyenne.
