Abstract
Cet article vise à documenter la complexité des relations amoureuses chez les jeunes en situation d’itinérance. À partir d’une démarche qualitative, des entrevues individuelles ont été menées auprès de 42 jeunes en situation d’itinérance (18 à 32 ans). L’analyse révèle que les conditions de vie précaires de l’itinérance exercent une tension sur les relations amoureuses des jeunes. Si les jeunes rapportent la nécessité de créer des relations amoureuses pour répondre à leurs besoins affectifs, matériels et identitaires, ils décrivent néanmoins l’impossibilité de maintenir ces relations amoureuses en raison d’un mouvement de repli sur eux-mêmes pour survivre aux conditions de vie précaires de l’itinérance. Le contexte de l’itinérance met en exergue « l’impossible nécessité » des relations amoureuses chez les jeunes.
