Introdução: A Insuficiência Cardíaca (IC) é uma das principais causas de internação hospitalar no mundo e tem um elevado grau de morbidade e mortalidade, sendo um dos mais graves problemas de saúde pública que gera muitos gastos para o Estado. Os lncRNAs é um tipo de RNA que não traduz proteínas e apresenta mais de 200 nucleotídeos em sua composição, têm funções regulatórias transcricionais ou pós trancricionais bem complexas e que ainda não são totalmente claras. Estudos demonstraram que esse grupo de RNAs exerce influência sobre as doenças cardiovasculares, dentre elas a IC. Objetivo: Identificar na literatura o papel dos lncRNA na IC. Material e Métodos: Revisão integrativa com busca sistemática de estudos observacionais realizada nas bases PubMed, Cochrane Library e Embase. Nesta pesquisa foi adota a escala de Newcastle-Ottawa (NOS) para estudos observacionais para avaliar o risco de viés e a qualidade dos estudos. Resultados: Três artigos foram considerados elegíveis para a leitura na íntegra e composição do estudo. Os principais papéis desse tipo de RNA na IC foram relatados como marcadores biológicos para diagnóstico e prognóstico na IC devido à expressividade aumentada na corrente sanguínea, outra possível função que os estudos mostraram é que os lncRNA podem estar relacionados à capacidade funcional dos pacientes com IC. Após aplicação da escala NOS foi demonstrado má qualidade metodológica entre os artigos, portanto, um alto risco de viés. Conclusão: Pacientes com IC apresentam níveis elevados de expressão de lncRNA possuindo função de marcador biológico para diagnóstico e prognóstico dos pacientes, bem como modulador da capacidade funcional.
