Abstract
In this study we try to reflect episodes of violence and terrorism in democratic societies in a framework of social work in the preventive area, intervention and social response, reconfiguring complex social relations in social, economic and political contexts. We use the documentary analysis of exploratory and comprehensive nature of the social problem and its consequences in reassuring functioning of society and the safety of citizens in the public space. It stands out this analysis the intervention of Social Work as a support to societies as promoter of intercultural dialogue and cooperation, acting on a global cohesion guide and respect for human rights. Beyond that, reinforces the need for preparation and placement of professionals in a supporting role to the immediate or indirect victims of violent episodes such as the terrorist attacks.
