Abstract
Plusieurs études ont été menées au sujet des contraintes dans la communication entre parents et professionnels. Ces études mettent en évidence la nature des écueils marquant ces relations, notamment le poids des préjugés et idées préconçues sur les savoir et savoir-faire des parents. Des attitudes de méfiance alimentent dans ce contexte des sentiments de malaise persistants qui vont nuire à la qualité des services offerts aux enfants, de même qu’à la recherche des solutions adaptées. Le présent article expose les résultats d’une recherche exploratoire. Des entrevues ont été menées, de même que des rétroactions vidéo auprès des parents et des intervenants du Québec, autour des rencontres de plans de services individualisés. L’analyse des données s’appuie sur des indicateurs des difficultés de communication identifiés lors des phases successives de sélection des données.
