Abstract
Au retour de son premier voyage en Union soviétique, en 1990, Jacques Derrida prononce à Irvine une conférence intitulée « Back from Moscow, in the urss ». Publié dans Moscou aller-retour (1995), ce récit pose la question de la possibilité, après les récits de ses devanciers (Étiemble, Gide, Benjamin), de proposer une lecture du mouvement révolutionnaire qui lui assignerait un sens, une direction. Cet article analyse comment Derrida trouve dans les récits qui ont précédé le sien les raisons de renoncer désormais à tout récit du retour.
