Une culture de la recherche pédagogique n’a pas encore pénétré ni les programmes de formation initiale à l’enseignement ni la culture des enseignants. Telle est, du moins, l’hypothèse générale que le lecteur trouvera explorée dans ce texte. Pour fixer d’abord le cadre général de ce texte, nous tracerons les grandes lignes de l’évolution de la recherche en éducation et des programmes de formation initiale à l’enseignement au Québec depuis les années 1960. Dans un deuxième temps, il s’agira de définir ce que nous entendons par une culture de la recherche pédagogique. Avouant ensuite nos « biais », nous ferons état de quelques constats sur la culture des enseignants, des futurs enseignants, puis nous examinerons les programmes actuels de formation initiale au Québec à l’enseignement au regard de l’hypothèse posée. Cet examen nous permettra de mettre en lumière ce que nous pouvons faire pour soutenir le développement d’une culture de la recherche pédagogique.
