Abstract
Les auteurs de cet article situent, dans un premier temps, l’intervention qu’ils proposent dans le contexte du Québec où les manifestations des troubles de comportement, notamment l’agressivité et la violence chez les jeunes et surtout chez les garçons, constituent un phénomène préoccupant. Ils rappellent ensuite les facteurs familiaux qui peuvent y contribuer. Puis, ils exposent les fondements des interventions auprès des familles afin de prévenir ces troubles de comportement et les différentes orientations des programmes d’intervention, y compris celles du programme « Être parents aujourd’hui ». Ils décrivent ensuite le contexte et la mise en place d’un dispositif expérimental destiné à étudier les effets de ce programme sur les compétences des parents et les comportements des adolescents à la maison et à l’école, en insistant particulièrement sur l’instrumentation évaluative créée à cet effet. Ils rappellent pour terminer que l’expérimentation auprès des familles étant actuellement en cours à la Commission scolaire des Laurentides, aucun résultat de cette étude n’est encore disponible.
