Abstract
Cet article porte sur la perception de 39 directions d’écoles du département du Nord-Est, en Haïti en ce qui a trait aux causes et à la prévention de la violence en milieu scolaire haïtien. Les analyses quantitatives montrent que les participants attribuent les causes de la violence scolaire plus à des facteurs externes à l’école (dans l’ordre, à la famille, puis à la société et aux élèves) qu’à des facteurs qui lui sont internes. L’analyse de contenu montre que les directions sont plus nombreuses à évoquer des moyens de prévention qui sont externes à l’école.
