Abstract

Cet article traite de la dimension morale du processus décisionnel de onze directions générales et douze commissaires scolaires de la province de Québec. Les deux groupes d’acteurs et d’actrices occupent deux sphères distinctes, soit la sphère administrative et la sphère politique des établissements scolaires. Malgré cette distinction, ces deux instances assument un travail conjoint dans le but d’assurer la bonne marche de la mission éducative. Cet article est le fruit d’une recherche qui a débuté à l’hiver 2001 et qui a été subventionnée par un fonds institutionnel. Pour analyser la dimension morale du processus décisionnel, nous avons utilisé un cadre multidimensionnel éthique (Starratt, 1991). Ce cadre a été modifié au cours de nos recherches antérieures afin de le rendre plus opérationnel (Langlois, 2000). Les résultats de cette étude démontrent que plusieurs liens unissent les deux groupes mais certaines tensions demeurent, créant parfois des obstacles à la bonne marche de l’organisation. Dans l’action des délibérations, il a été possible de relever la présence d’approches éthiques pour les directions générales et les commissaires. Bien que le titre de cet article puisse laisser présager qu’un certaindangerpersiste entre les deux groupes, les résultats nous ont plutôt démontré que ledangerréside plutôt au sein même du conseil des commissaires. La lecture de nos résultats permettra de justifier cette constation.
