Abstract
L’article qui suit propose d’aborder les étapes et les enjeux liés à l’élaboration d’une Bibliothèque virtuelle de périodiques (BVP), revues et journaux électroniques. L’auteure explique que le projet de collaboration entre les bibliothécaires de la francophonie, lancé à l’initiative de la Vitrine APO du réseau collégial québécois, permet de profiter davantage des possibilités associées aux nouvelles technologies de l’information et des communications (NTIC). La création d’un répertoire de périodiques offrant gratuitement du texte par l’intermédiaire de l’inforoute vient répondre aux besoins de développement des ressources éducatives en langue française. La description de l’ensemble des activités de la bibliothèque virtuelle qui seront présentées témoigne, par ailleurs, de l’adaptation de la chaîne documentaire traditionnelle à un environnement numérique virtuel. Enfin, l’article démontre que le rôle des bibliothécaires et autres spécialistes de l’information demeure essentiel à l’heure des bibliothèques virtuelles.
