Abstract
La presse anarchiste française s’inscrit dès ses débuts dans le cadre d’une lutte pour la diffusion d’une information franche et honnête que la grande presse bourgeoise, inféodée au pouvoir, subordonnerait au contraire aux exigences de la propagande. Cet article analyse la position des écrivains et journalistes anarchistes sur le rôle de la presse dans la diffusion des fausses nouvelles, en évoquant les journaux de Proudhon (1848-1850), mais en se concentrant surtout sur les polémiques autour du « bourrage de crânes » lors de la Première Guerre mondiale. L’analyse convoque deux des auteurs les plus actifs du courant anarchiste individualiste, Manuel Devaldès et Gérard de Lacaze-Duthiers, et se concentre sur leur critique du langage et de l’utilisation de lieux communs, clichés et slogans à des fins de propagande.
