Depuis quelques années déjà, plusieurs intervenants en éducation exigent une révision de la formation des enseignantes et des enseignants. Parmi les changements proposés dans les facultés d’éducation, on retrouve l’exigence d’un stage pratique prolongé, l’établissement de liens plus transparents entre la théorie et la pratique et des occasions accrues pour les stagiaires de réfléchir sur leur pratique. Le présent article porte sur l’expérimentation d’un programme de formation en milieu scolaire pour les étudiantes et les étudiants qui sont en dernière année de leur baccalauréat au Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface. Les stagiaires sont jumelés à une enseignante ou un enseignant chevronné pendant sept mois. Une évaluation du programme indique un haut niveau de satisfaction de la part des participantes et des participants par rapport au programme. Cependant, la survie d’un tel programme exige que l’on porte une attention spéciale à certains aspects, notamment : le placement des stagiaires; leur charge de travail; les ressources de la faculté; l’intégration de la théorie et de la pratique; et finalement, la collaboration entre tous les participantes et les participants.
