Abstract
Ayant assidûment fréquenté les cinémas avec son père, au Havre, durant la Première Guerre mondiale, Raymond Queneau (1903-1976) devient, dès son arrivée à Paris, un spectateur assidu des salles « osscures ». « Nous voilà tous… », court texte surréaliste, publié en 1989 dans la Bibliothèque de la Pléiade parmi nombre de poèmes et de textes inédits, est un éloge poétique du cinéma d’avant l’arrivée du parlant. N’ayant pas encore fait l’objet d’analyses jusqu’à ce jour, celui-ci se présente comme un texte fondateur pour qui s’intéresse à la manifestation du cinéma dans l’oeuvre de Raymond Queneau. Ce dernier y revendique le cinématographe comme une découverte majeure, tout en faisant l’inventaire des figures qui constituent son panthéon cinématographique et qui vont nourrir, sous diverses formes et avec de nombreuses variantes, son oeuvre romanesque et poétique. Cet article se propose d’explorer comment ces motifs se développent peu à peu, se répètent et évoluent pour constituer un ensemble des plus originaux sur l’expression du cinéma dans la littérature de son temps.
