Le système pénal apparaît de plus en plus comme un moyen de responsabiliser les individus qui ne correspondent pas à l’idéal du citoyen productif, doublé d’un dispositif pour orienter ceux-ci vers des traitements qui leur permettront de participer pleinement à la société. À partir d’une analyse de la littérature sur le sujet et des résultats de deux projets de recherche menés au Québec, cet article propose de mettre en lumière la manière dont les services policiers participent activement au virage thérapeutique de l’État, en ciblant et en intervenant de façon intensive auprès d’individus catégorisés comme étant « vulnérables ».
