Abstract
This article discusses the links that connect the emotions and the mobilization of campaigners participating in an organization committee for mental health services in part of the healthcare network in downtown Montreal. The historical perspective points to a shift in the spaces in which campaigners for mental health rights fight. Previously active outside of the institutional frameworks at the heart of user associations, campaigners are increasingly becoming integrated into spaces of participation shaped by public authorities. This shift is accompanied by a discrediting of certain emotions such as anger and indignation, which have served as leverage for transforming public institutions.
