Abstract

Nous proposons de retracer et d’analyser à la fois les réseaux d’acteurs et les discours mobilisés dans la controverse autour de Didier Raoult et de sa proposition thérapeutique contre la COVID-19 sur le réseau Twitter. Pour vérifier la validité de nos hypothèses, nous mettons en œuvre une méthode de recherche sophistiquée et innovante qui consiste à appliquer sur un corpus de 1,2 million de tweets une analyse de réseaux combinée à une analyse lexicométrique. Nos résultats montrent que les pics de production étaient liés à des évènements médiatiques importants. Par ailleurs, un grand nombre de groupes se sont agglomérés autour des comptes de médias et de figures politiques qui ont reçu de nombreuses mentions. Les groupes de supporteurs de Trump et de Bolsonaro se sont connectés avec les pro-Raoult francophones. Les messages des pro-Raoult constituent une critique de l’économie politique du libéralisme et de ses impasses et pas simplement un complotisme antiscience.
