Abstract
ccess to justice is a policy area that is garnering increasingly greater attention.There are at least three national organizations leading collaborative discussions on how best to enhance our understanding of the issues and solutions to reducing barriers within Canada's justice system.The Action Committee on Access to Justice in Civil and Family Matters was convened at the invitation of the Chief Justice of Canada, The Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin. 1 Chaired by Justice Thomas Cromwell of the Supreme Court of Canada, the Action Committee's mandate is to develop a national vision for access to justice and to reduce barriers to Canada's civil system of justice.The Canadian Bar Association
