Abstract
O objetivo ao qual se propoe este artigo e o de tracar o perfil da mao-de-obra das industrias cerâmica, calcadista e metal-mecânica em Criciuma, importantes setores para a economia de toda a regiao sul-catarinense que, ao lado das industrias vestuarista e plastica, dinamizaram a regiao, diversificando sua base produtiva, alicercada, ate meados da decada de 1970, na exploracao carbonifera. Para tanto, foram pesquisadas as fichas funcionais dos arquivos da Crisul Calcados, Cerâmica Santa Catarina Ltda. e Siderurgica Criciumense Ltda., as duas primeiras empresas hoje desativadas, investigando-se, alem da origem da mao-de-obra que constituiriam os tres setores em estudo, as relacoes entre capital e trabalho nos primeiros anos de funcionamento das industrias sobreditas.
