Publicisation et qualité de l'information : la polémique sur la chloroquine

Abstract
La crise du coronavirus met en lumière l’importance des médias pour la publicisation des débats scientifiques. La production et la diffusion d’informations fiables est essentielle. Dans cette perspective, l’écologie des médias nous paraît être un cadre théorique fécond. Il est alors nécessaire, d’un point de vue méthodologique, d’appréhender la qualité de l’information. Nous proposons des critères et des mesures quantifiées pour avancer dans cette direction. Une application est effectuée sur la polémique ayant trait à l’utilisation de la chloroquine, traitement préconisé par le professeur Raoult. L’application porte sur la période de février 2020 à juin 2020. Les articles diffusés en ligne par quatre médias dits de référence, des journaux français et suisses, sont analysés. Les résultats sont, certes, exploratoires et doivent être interprétés avec précaution. Nous notons cependant des différences sensibles entre les quatre médias. Nous nous interrogeons aussi sur le risque majeur d’une idéologisation des débats scientifiques.
