Abstract
Cet article examine les discours relevant du tourisme diasporique à l’occasion du Congrès Mondial Acadien 2019 tenu au Nouveau-Brunswick et à l’Ile-du-Prince-Edouard (Canada). Les Congrès mondiaux sont l’occasion de réunir des membres de la diaspora acadienne, une minorité ethnique et linguistique originaire de l’Est du Canada dispersée dans plusieurs régions du continent Nord-Américain et dans le monde. En particulier, nous examinons les expériences vécues des membres d’une délégation venue de la Louisiane lors de ce « retour » sur la terre de leurs ancêtres. Les processus d’identification diasporique dont témoignent leurs discours reposent à la fois sur des « moments » où la distance mémorielle et géographique s’efface lors de visites patrimoniales, sur la reconnaissance d’éléments doxiques d’une identité partagée qui permet de se sentir chez soi chez l’autre et sur la volonté de transformer les liens symboliques qui unissent la diaspora en partenariats économiques transnationaux.
