Abstract

Cette étude porte sur les techniques et le savoir-faire de la méthode traditionnelle de plomb du maître-verrier Olivier Ferland (1928-2017). Elle se penche sur l’expérience vécue et les techniques telles que décrites par Ferland lui-même dans ses écrits, ou par des auteurs qui relatent ses propos dans des entrevues culturelles et livrets ecclésiastiques, dans le cadre d’une recension des écrits. L’objectif de ce travail est de développer une perspective d’ensemble et des connaissances générales sur les pratiques, techniques et savoir-faire des vitraux. Il explorera les aspects du savoir-faire et les techniques du vitrail d’autrefois qui ont été transmis jusqu’à ce jour, et montrera qu’il y a à la fois une continuité et des variantes dans ce savoir-faire dans la région de Québec.
