Polish Abstract: Human security, inaczej bezpieczenstwo jednostki ludzkiej, ludzkie bądź czlowieka, to wspolcześnie jedna z popularnych koncepcji bezpieczenstwa, czesto przeciwstawiana bezpieczenstwu narodowemu. Szukając źrodel powstania human security, zazwyczaj lączy sie je z dzialalnością Organizacji Narodow Zjednoczonych (ONZ), traktując jako analityczne narzedzie ONZ sluzące lepszemu rozpoznaniu środowiska miedzynarodowego, jego potrzeb i wypracowaniu metod ich realizacji. Upowszechnianie sie postulatow human security wplywa rowniez na pojmowanie bezpieczenstwa narodowego w czasach wspolczesnych. Mimo to human security nie nalezy traktowac jako koncepcji przeciwstawnej bezpieczenstwu narodowemu, lecz jako uzupelniającą bądź alternatywną. W artykule analizowano ujecia human security, czyli tzw. szkole japonską (szerokie ujecie) oraz szkole kanadyjską (wąskie ujecie). English Abstract: Human security is nowadays one of the most popular security concepts, often contrasted with national security. Human security is usually linked with the activities of the United Nations (UN), being an analytical UN tool for better recognition of the international environment, its needs. The spread of human security postulates also affects the understanding of national security. Nevertheless, human security should not be treated as a concept contrary to national security but as a complementary or alternative one. The paper concerns the notion and dimensions of human security, i.e. so-called Japanese and Canadian schools of human security.
