Abstract
Les biographies des mulieres religiosae de la région de Liège écrites au début du xiiie siècle par Jacques de Vitry (Marie d’Oignies) et Thomas de Cantimpré (supplément à la Vie de Marie d’Oignies, vies de Christine de Saint-Trond, Marguerite d’Ypres et Lutgarde d’Aywières) mettent en place les composantes de la « configuration mystique » que Michel de Certeau a étudiée pour les xvie-xviiie siècles. On y constate que le verbe du théologien s’incline face au langage corporel de la mystique qui se traduit par des comportements d’ascétisme extrême et des agissements se confondant parfois avec la folie ou la possession. Le corps permet ainsi à l’irreprésentable de se manifester et aux femmes d’être en mesure de transmettre le message divin.
