Abstract
King’s College of the University of Western Ontario has been teaching courses about death and bereavement since September 1976. From 1976 to 1994, only one course was offered, Introduction to Thanatology. In 1994, a full program was offered leading to a certificate in Grief and Bereavement Studies. In 2005, a major in Thanatology will be introduced. The present certificate program requires that students take Thanatology 101 (a full year course); Thanatology 103, Thanatology 105; Thanatology 160; and one other Thanatology course. In addition, four of the ZT courses must be taken.
