Abstract
Dans certaines scénographies récentes, le contact avec l’objet est médié par la photographie, la vidéo ou l’installation artistique. Le rôle de ces nouveaux médias muséaux est de rendre présents des objets qui ne se trouvent pas physiquement dans les collections du musée mais également, et surtout, de faire réfléchir le spectateur sur la représentation en tant que telle et sur les limites de la reconstitution du passé. Nous proposons ici une réflexion sur deux fonctions muséales de l’objet : l’auto-représentation (l’apparaître/la présence) qui engage les outils de la phénoménologie et la transmission d’un message (fonction « médium ») qui fait appel, parmi d’autres, à ceux de la sémiotique.
