Abstract
Northwestern University is a private, selective university in Evanston, Illinois. Total undergraduate enrollment is approximately 7,500. Sociology 321, Armed Forces and Society, is offered every fall quarter. Enrollment is 200 students (room size). Occasionally there is a guest lecturer, i.e., one who has returned from a war zone. Students are juniors and seniors. Virtually all of the students have taken my Introduction to Sociology (enrollment 600 students, room size) as freshmen.
